The Bluff

Oct 6, 2024

In this garden of bluffs, we move confusely like moving shadows,

You and I, tricky players in this masked game.

I seek to understand the depths of your working mind,

But my hooks catch only tidal ripples on your surface.

Yearning, searching, I think that I see, but knowing eludes me,

Like an illusion on the surface of the planes of understanding.

Your being makes me shiver in my being,

A sacred feeling that breaks my fully-instilled created self.

When our masks collide, the grasp of reality weakens,

Revealing visions of the truths beyond any lasting sight,

Eyes play tricks, words can ensnare,

But I embrace the mysteries of life, wise like a fool in my being of ignorance.

I sense the pulse of eternal presence in this moment,

How could you feign your played games to my beating heart?

I offer you the totality of my being, untamed and unadorned,

Whilst you contain the riddles of starlight wrapped.

How could I even know someone when I am stranger to the self?

In the reflections of your eyes, I seek my own mask unveiled.

This dance of illusions and horizons elevates me,

It leaves me dizzy, rumbling through the stomach of doubt.

Guide me please through this heart of mine,

I will go on and follow the truth, the thread to unspool.

My life-lasting energy goes as the setting sun,

But my spirit's focus continues to ignite in the eternal stars.

Can you sense the universe expansive in the breath we share?

In this moment, I poke through infinity and beyond.
