The Promise I Keep

Sep 24, 2024

The promise I keep, the promising with which I sleep,

In tender moments into deep, out of the shadows make my leap.

To those that have come before, I make a promise to be more,

In quickened rise I leave the floor, to reach the very highest door.

And in this door I find, that there are many of this kind,

From ground below where I was blind, all of these gates are intertwined.

No matter which I choose to enter, that's when it becomes my center,

Now I might need a mentor, so that I might become a great ascender.

With great acceptance I will try, to activate my valued why,

The world greeting me it does comply, and I remove upon me the tongue tie.

It's time that I speak freely now, without filter not as highbrow,

In loud tonality avow, greatness from my ancestors I endow.

A path they left for me to follow, one that is shaped but it is hollow,

My useless pride now I swallow, avoiding aspects of Apollo.

I promise to my kingdom come, I let my greatness now become,

Removing my elusive thickened grum, so I may reach a zero-sum.

In solitude I pay respect, this from me you can surely spect,

My promise given dearly I protect, and let anyone who doubts inspect.

Through feat and tribulation vast, I honour pledge to unsurpassed,

My word, a union from now to past, ensures my memory will last.

With each step up the winding stair, I sense the weight of what I bear,

The promises, divine prayer, properly guiding me with utmost care.

In shadows and the sun I climb, my vows the rhythm and the rhyme,

Pushing me towards through space and time, ahead a vision more of mine.

The vow I keep is not a chain, but span of wing that lifts through pain,

An echoed compass true through all the rain, leading myself to divine domain.

Thus, let me word eternal stand, a beacon light over the land,

The promise kept, by mind and hand, achieved the future that I planned.
